Job description


As Editorial Leader you are passionate about marketing and communication and committed to the IKEA culture and values. You are motivated to work together across different team functions, leading and implementing the editorial plan of The Story of IKEA, securing high qualitative content mainly for our digital part of the museum. This includes leading creative collaborations with briefs and budget responsibility, having a passion about the editorial process and an eye for details, an understanding about the audience, and a commitment to fact-based story-telling. You are driven by a constant urge to become better and challenge to make a difference. You collaborate closely with the whole marketing team to create impact and meet business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implement the digital museum plan, securing the marketing and communication strategies and business objectives.
  • Lead the overall editorial planning and production of content, including securing high quality of text, images, film and more.
  • Lead and develop close collaborations with creators, stakeholders, agencies, and suppliers, being a great ambassador for IKEA culture and values.
  • Secure IKEA trademarks, IKEA tone of voice and IKEA museum brand guidelines.
  • Lead parts of the marketing budget planning and follow up.
  • Secure consistency and alignment of plans in the team and other functions and businesses with the aim to maximize the impact and improve ways of working.
  • Act as a role model leading by example and promoting the IKEA Culture & Values.
Qualification


As our Editorial Leader, you will have an important role of leading the editorial work of The Story of IKEA and therefore should possess relevant background and experience from marketing and communication. Wed expect you to come with a background from creative and/or editorial processes and productions, with attention to detail and understanding of how to develop high qualitative content and create impact with target groups. You are highly skilled in working with texts, but also other forms of content such as film and image. You are collaborative and build strong relations with stakeholders, and you have an understanding of how to turn strategies into tactics and actions and you are familiar with immaterial rights and legal processes.

  • University degree in marketing & communication or similar.
  • Senior experience from marketing and communication, e.g., from senior role in agency or marketing department.
  • Experience from leading communication production processes.
  • Highly skilled in media and web communication
  • Updated on trends and development in the channel and media landscape.
  • Understanding of the museum and destination industries.
  • Capable in turning business and marketing plans into tactics and plans and to lead change and processes across functions and business.
  • Fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Preferred, knowledge about IKEA concept and business model and IKEA communication processes having familiarity with IKEA tone of voice.
