Cloud & Platform Pre-Sales Solution Architect

Open for additional locations in Norway, Denmark and Finland Splunk Cloud & Platform Solution Architects are experienced customer-facing Pre-Sales professionals with demonstrable expertise of Splunk architectures, designs, and Cloud infrastructure providers. As one of Splunk’s specialized, technical customer-facing resources, you will be a key participant in the advancement of customers Splunk Architecture, inclusive of Cloud and customer-managed deployment expansions and/or migrations. As a Cloud & Platform Solution Architect you will provide customers and account teams with technical and domain expertise for advanced and complex Splunk architecture and data management Solutions.
You will research and communicate the value of leveraging Splunk’s capabilities to address data challenges at massive scale across hybrid deployments. You will guide customers through their Splunk growth journey, recommending Splunk capabilities that are applicable to their environment, maturity, and future state objectives.
This role requires a self-motivated continuous learner that has a deep desire to apply Splunk solutions to assist customers through a wide range of Security and O11y challenges. Customer interactions will cover a wide range of engagements. Some examples include assessing customer use-cases against Splunk architectures and capabilities, providing guidance to customers on available patterns that meet their business objectives, presenting to senior customer staff to promote use-cases expansion with Splunk.
A successful Splunk Platform Solution Architect will not only maintain a technical understanding of Splunk’s solutions, but also build cross-functional relationships with other teams, fostering a supportive mentoring environment that helps to build scale and impact Splunk’s continued Growth. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain deep competencies in specific capabilities areas needed by Splunk customers (e.g., streaming and data transformation, forwarding and collection architectures, search federation, security/compliance, Public Cloud IaaS and PaaS)
• Engage with Nordics & Benelux as well as EMEA wide sales teams including both strategic commercial and public sector accounts
• Identify customer challenges where new sizing, advanced design patterns, or capabilities are required to meet business objectives.
• Partner with Customer Engineers to drive customer opportunities for Cloud Migration and significant customer-managed expansions.
• Provide expert-level engagement for Splunk’s new or advanced Platform capabilities.
• Consult and build the platform technical roadmaps to advance account technical plans for customers.
• Plan and design advanced hybrid architectures.

• 
  Drive expansion and migration of Splunk deployments in EMEA.
• Design for multi-terabyte deployments across infrastructure environments for Global and complex businesses.
• Act as an internal technical expert, fielding inquiries related to on-premises deployments, Splunk Cloud services, and cloud services provided by Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services

  Provide hands-on leadership to solve Splunk technical architecture/integration needs
• Design validated architectures and best practices in partnership with other Architects, Product Management, and Professional Services
• Become an expert on newly developed Splunk platform capabilities and emerging ecosystem technologies. Apply your expertise to facilitate go-to-market content

development and shepherd go-to-market motions.

• Partner with Cloud, Platform, and Compliance Technical Interlocks to proactively identify customer challenges and needs, influencing the Product roadmap to meet critical customer requirements.

Requirements:
Must have: Technical and experiential competencies:

• Possess a depth of expertise in enterprise logging solutions, specifically utilizing Splunk.
• 7+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, services, system administration, and/or engineer roles
• 5+ years of experience working with infrastructure and platform services to support enterprise-scale data challenges.
• Deep knowledge of strategies for operationalizing logs across infrastructure providers (i.e., on-premises, AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform)
• Experience selling or deploying technology that requires the navigation of enterprise networking, security, and compliance standards.
• Expertise in at least one scripting language (python, bash, etc.)
• Fluent in English as well as Swedish or other Nordic language

• Experience presenting complex technical topics to all audiences, from working-level administrators to executive stakeholders.
• Expertise in the execution of projects and deliverables to support technology customers’ understanding and ability to capture the full value of their data platform investments.
• Experience assembling and navigating cross-functional teams to drive business and customer outcomes.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent communication - both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively lead others in a highly collaborative team environment
• Excellent presentation skills and an expert in using data to articulate a story or issue in a Tell-Show-Tell format.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to adapt to evolving priorities, with a dedication to championing the customer and your team.

OTE Range

For sales roles starting salaries are expressed as On Target Earnings or OTE (OTE = base + on-target incentives in the form of sales commission plans).

Sweden

On Target Earnings: SEK 1,273,600.00 - 1,751,200.00 per year

Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the On Target Earnings (OTE) range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the OTE will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to OTE, this role may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
