Let’s be #BrilliantTogether Position Overview ISS ESG is seeking an experienced methodology governance expert to join the Global ESG Methodology team in our Stockholm, Brussels or London location. ESG Methodology is a horizontal function across all ESG research and solution verticals, ensuring high quality and consistency of methodologies, innovative solutions, and gold standard in research and resulting signals. The focus of the Methodology Governance Expert role will be to support the Quality Management and Assurance Lead by building out methodology governance structures for the ISS ESG Research team. The Methodology Governance Expert will contribute to executing a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle and will closely collaborate and cooperate with all relevant respective research and product teams to continuously ensure the highest standards in terms of methodology and quality, as well as consistent approaches and fully integrated solutions across our business. ISS ESG teams are based in the Philippines, the US, Australia, Germany, Sweden, India, and the UK. The successful candidate will work both independently as well as collaboratively with the local team and colleagues across our global offices. Working in a dynamic market and international environment, we put great emphasis on cooperation and offer a welcoming, collegial working atmosphere. Responsibilities
  • Build-up in-depth knowledge and expertise on the methodological framework within ISS ESG, as well as a thorough understanding of ISS ESG solutions
  • Further enhance and develop the methodology governance framework within ISS ESG Research and establish protocols and procedures for research with regard to methodological development and change management in cooperation with the Research team, Compliance, and Regulatory team
  • Support the development, review, approval, and governance processes of the methodologies that underpin ISS ESG’s solutions
  • Leverage key differentiators of research methodologies
  • Establish deep relationships and partner with all relevant research and product teams to facilitate further integration of methodologies, processes and outputs based on our quality program
  • Oversee consistency and plausibility of methodology and results
  • Identify areas with need of improvement, plan and implement changes, and provide training, tools, and techniques to stakeholders to achieve methodological consistency and congruency
  • Drive forward the thorough documentation of methodologies and methodology governance procedures, requirements etc.
  • Monitor developments in the responsible investment space, review and affirm alignment of our methodology with relevant regulatory and voluntary standards
  • Initiate methodology and quality enhancements in line with client and market expectations
  • Create and monitor relevant KPIs and quality reporting as it pertains to methodology governance processes
  • Support the QM&A team in the implementation of a Quality Management System using the PDCA cycle
  • Support internal and external enquiries as they pertain to methodology governance within ISS ESG Research
Qualifications
  • Have 3 years or more of relevant experience in the area of methodology governance and related processes and practices
  • Have 3 years or more of relevant experience in the field of ESG investor research or comparable services to the financial industry
  • Experience with or knowledge in quality management regimes and techniques desirable (ISO9001 implementation preferred)
  • Solutions- and execution-oriented approach
  • Exceptional project management skills. Experience with Project Management tools such as MS Project, Jira, MS Visio, MS Office, SharePoint etc. preferred
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, a self-driven work ethic, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented cross-functional environment and communicate with various internal parties; experience working with teams located in multiple cities and countries preferred.
  • Fluency in English; additional language capabilities are an asset (especially German, French, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin)
  • High energy, passion, and drive, with a strong positive outlook.
