Landell Games is looking for an enthusiastic Level Designer Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to our creative team. If you have a passion for game design and some foundational knowledge in creating engaging game environments, this six-month unpaid internship could be your perfect start in the gaming industry.
Responsibilities:
Assist in designing and prototyping game levels under the guidance of our experienced designers.
Learn and apply basic use of level editing tools to create immersive environments.
Collaborate with other team members to ensure the functionality and aesthetics of levels.
Participate in playtesting sessions and integrate feedback to improve level design.
Help maintain design documentation and contribute to creative discussions.
Requirements:
A genuine passion for games and an interest in level design.
Some familiarity with game design concepts and level editing tools such as level flow, affordances, push & pull, etc.
Creative thinking and basic problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
Share a portfolio that demonstrates your process of designing a level: from initial concept, through creating top-down map and/or block-out to finalizing the level.
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from a relevant degree program, or self-taught with some basic projects to show.
